What to expect

Making an informed decision about a property purchase is crucial. At First Check Inspections, we aim to provide you with a clear, comprehensive understanding of a property's condition through our pre-purchase building inspections. Here’s what you can expect from our process, from booking to receiving your detailed report.

Your inspection journey

From the moment you book a pre-purchase building inspection with us, our process is designed for your ease and confidence. We ensure you receive fast, clear, and reliable information to help you make a sound decision.

1. Booking & Authorisation

Once your inspection is booked, you'll receive a concise electronic Inspection Agreement/Authorisation. Signing this confirms the scope of the inspection and grants us permission to access the property.

2. Coordinating Access

We will arrange a suitable inspection time directly with the real estate agent or the vendor. This streamlines the process, saving you the effort of organising access yourself.

3. The On-site Inspection

The on‑site inspection typically takes 1 to 3 hours, depending on the property’s size, age, and condition. The inspection covers all accessible areas, including the site, exterior cladding and joinery, roof exterior, roof space/ceiling cavity, interior rooms and linings, and the subfloor or foundations (where accessible). Targeted moisture readings are taken, and any defects, risks, or general condition issues observed during the assessment are documented.

What makes First Check Inspections different?

Extensive, hands‑on experience across the full lifecycle of how homes are built, designed, and assessed is at the core of this service.
